Award for Service to Archery in Western Australia.
Kaye DuncanWhat can we say about Kaye except that she is just a girl who cannot say "No" and without her we would be in a terrible fix.
Kaye took up Archery last century, at the start of the 1990's. She joined the Bowmen of Melville, which her husband Alistair had already joined. She was already heavily involved in running a Brownies troupe but in her first year in Archery she became involved in the administration and organising at the club.
Kaye and Alistair took time off for a working holiday in the UK but retained their membership in Australia although they also joined the Malden Bowmen whilst on their trip and shot in many UK tournaments.
Since taking up Archery, Kaye has been the Archerys Society's Treasurer since 1997, Treasurer for the huge 1999 Nationals Indoor and "Head to Head International" Tournament , a member of the Mad Committee for several years, and still found time to train as a member of our 1998, 2000 and 2001 State Teams.
During this time too, she has been Club Treasurer, Social Director, and Catering Manager, and in her spare time has been raising two very young children, maintained her involvement in the Brownie movement, and continued her career.
The 2003 ASWA Annual General Meeting agreed with her recommendation to split the Treasurer's job for the future, and so ease an increasing workload for that position, but she has offered to do one of the new positions.
You will have to stay tuned to find out what she is going to do with all of her new found leisure time.
